Migraine Escape is an all-natural, topically-applied treatment for reducing the duration and symptoms of mild migraines and headaches, made 100% from a proprietary pure ginger extract. It is a wonder of science and nature combined, so unique that it has been awarded a US Patent in 2018 titled Treatment of Pain as a Topical Pain Treatment (with other patents pending worldwide) and is approved by the Australian Government Therapeutic Goods Administration as a Complementary Medicine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Below we have listed some common questions people ask us about Migraine Escape®. If the information you are looking for can't be found below, please feel free to contact us anytime and we will happily answer any questions you may have.
Migraines are a totally debilitating headache. Any migraine sufferer knows how they feel when a non sufferer says 'yeah I get bad headaches too'! They have no idea of the suffering a migraineur experiences. If you can continue working, driving, playing sport etc, the chances are it is not a migraine, just a bad headache.
A survey in Australia conducted by Stollznow Research in 2011 titled 'Migraines in Australia' found 12 % of women and 6% of men suffered migraines, with another 50% suffering in silence because they felt neither their doctor or family believed in their pain. That means 27% of the population suffers migraines! The survey also found that 83% of migraineurs were dissatisfied with their current medication.
Migraine Escape founder Michael Dale says: 'When I begin talking about Migraine Escape I know immediately whether I am talking to a sufferer or not, even before they tell me they are a sufferer. The body language and facial expressions immediately convey they know first hand what the pain is like. Furthermore, during the past 5 years of development, when I have discussed Migraine Escape with random groups of people, migraineurs appear to be 1 in 4, which would tend to validate those statistics. The World Health Organisation classifies migraines as the most expensive brain disorder in the world, both in terms of lost productivity and the money spent of treatment and medications, yet despite those statistics, less money is spent on migraine research than many other far less debilitating illnesses.'
The proprietary extract is 100% derived from ginger, one of nature's most extraordinary plants. Migraine Escape contains absolutely no preservatives, chemicals or additives, just nature at its very best. We source only the very highest quality Australian ginger from Queensland using only Freshcare Accredited Growers. Australia is renowned worldwide for the purity and quality of its agricultural products and Migraine Escape is truly representative of those high standards.
The special formula of the Migraine Escape extract is a complete biological reconstruction of the ginger plant itself, hence the product displays all of the anti-inflammatory, anti-nociceptive (pain-inhibiting), antioxidant, neuroprotective and antiemetic properties that ginger does. Migraine Escape's remarkable efficacy can be explained by the synergy of its chemical properties. Being topical, it is absorbed through the blood membrane in seconds and goes to work immediately, unlike oral analgesics that take some time to be absorbed through the stomach into the bloodstream.
Migraine Escape has shown outstanding results for many people that use it. Both chronic and less frequent migraine sufferers report rapid pain relief and significant reduction in the frequency of migraines, with a subsequent improvement in confidence knowing that they always have an easy-to-use, fast-acting migraine combatant by their side.*
Migraine Escape, like any treatment, has different effects on different people. For whatever reason, it does not work for some people nor for some migraine events. We have found that the most common reason for low efficacy is improper application e.g. 1. late application or 2. the application area not being free of makeup, moisturiser or sunscreen, which prevents quick absorption through the skin.
We therefore recommend our users follow our usage guidelines. However if you subsequently find Migraine Escape provides you with no pain relief and you are dissatisfied with your product, we will be happy to refund your purchase in full within 30 days, no questions asked. Please refer to our refund policy for details.
You can use Migraine Escape as either an acute migraine treatment (i.e. for pain relief during a migraine event) or as a longer-term preventative. When using it as an acute treatment, we recommend you apply Migraine Escape at the first sign of the impending migraine event. Being a topically-applied treatment, it can only be absorbed if the skin is clean, so first remove any makeup, moisturizer or sunscreen. For detailed, step-by-step application guidance and information on how to get the best results for your particular circumstances, please visit our dedicated usage guidelines page.
Migraine Escape is manufactured under strict GMP Pharmaceutical standards stipulated by the Australian Government Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Ginger is recognised by both the TGA and the US Government Food & Drug Administration (FDA) as being generally safe.
Being a concentrated topical application, Migraine Escape can cause skin irritation for people with sensitive skin.
TGA requires the following warnings to be included on the packaging: If symptoms persist, consult your healthcare practitioner. Individuals taking anticoagulants or at risk of bleeding problems should seek medical advice before applying Migraine Escape. For external use on unbroken skin only. Not to be taken. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children.
Women who are pregnant should seek the advice of their medical practitioner before using Migraine Escape.
Ginger may interact with the chemicals found in prescription and over-the-counter medicines. If you take any of the following medicines, you should talk to your health care provider before using ginger or ginger-based products:
- Blood-thinning medications: Ginger may increase the risk of bleeding. Talk to your doctor before taking ginger if you take blood thinners, such as warfarin (Coumadin), clopidogrel (Plavix) or aspirin.
- Diabetes medications: Ginger may cause a reduction in blood sugar, which can raise the risk of developing hypoglycemia or low blood sugar level.
- High blood pressure medications: Ginger may cause a reduction in blood pressure, which can raise the risk of low blood pressure or irregular heartbeat.
Migraine Escape is 100% sourced from nature, which means it does not have the same side-effect profile as conventional migraine products. Our customers don't report the next day hangover, nausea, brain fog etc that may be experienced when using chemical-based treatments. There is also not the long-term threat to your health like that posed by chemical-based treatments.
That said, as a highly concentrated ginger extract, the properties associated with ginger are intensified in Migraine Escape. This applies to both the medicinal/analgesic properties and side effects.
In small doses, ginger has few side effects. These include dermatitis, skin rash, gas, heartburn, upset stomach and vomiting. Higher doses of ginger (e.g. 5 grams or more a day) may increase the chance of side effects, and 1x regular-sized application (3-4 swipes) of Migraine Escape equates to approximately 2.0 grams of ginger.
The primary/most common side effect of Migraine Escape is a heat sensation on the skin at the site of application. The severity varies with the individual. People with sensitive skin may want to try a smaller amount initially to test for any reaction.
Migraine Escape will also sting if it gets in the eyes, so make sure to wash your hands after use.
We advise not applying more than 16 swipes of Migraine Escape in a 24 hour period (e.g. a maximum of 4 regular-sized applications of 3~4 swipes each per 24 hours). Overuse may lead to symptoms including an increase in vomiting, increase in migraine-associated pain, increased skin sensitivity and nose bleeding. If you are particularly sensitive to any types of medication or inputs, you may also have an increased risk of these side effects.
Some people meanwhile may find the scent of Migraine Escape discomforting.
